Tiny's Story

Tiny’s Seasoning is owned and operated by Eric LaFaucia and his wife, Jordon, out of Ponchatoula Louisiana. After several years of sharing the great taste that come from our kitchen and cookouts with friends and family, we decided to share them with everyone else too! While Tiny's may have started as a steak seasoning, it has quickly become a seasoning for EVERYTHING. We hope you enjoy our seasonings as much as we do!

Eric’s love for cooking started while serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Underwood (FFG-36) as a Gas Turbine Technician from 2003-2007. For most sailors, upon reporting to their assigned ship, their first 3 months of duty is served in the mess (kitchen) as a Food Service Attendant, also know as “cranking”. It was here that Eric served in the Chief’s Mess, making custom breakfast orders on the griddle, and serving 3 meals a day to the Enlisted leaders of the Underwood. That short experience lit the spark that ignited Eric’s love for cooking.

Upon returning home from the Navy, Eric and his brother-in-law, John, began to share their love for cooking and BBQ together. They created a BBQ Competition Team and brand called “Team Roshambo BBQ” and began cooking small local BBQ Competitions, catering parties for friends, and backyard cookouts together. After graduating from Purdue University and moving away for work, Team Roshambo slowly faded but Eric’s love for cooking and creating new tastes continued.

In February 2015, Eric was determined to make Jordon the best steak (her favorite food) that she ever had for Valentine’s Day. After years of only cooking steak with salt and pepper, he decided to add just a few more ingredients to make it that much better but didn’t want to disguise the great taste of beef. It was with that original recipe that Jordon gave him the thumbs up of approval and Tiny’s was created. Add in a couple years’ worth of trips to a Subway and seeing them season their sandwiches with salt and pepper in the same shaker, Eric decided to quit adding each seasoning to his steaks individually and put the Tiny’s Seasoning in a bottle for the first time.

After Eric, Jordon, and family moved to Louisiana in 2017, Tiny’s Seasoning came with and the love for Tiny’s started to spread to new friends. Tiny’s was made for steak, but we were quickly learning that it was great on everything. Chicken thighs and ribeye sandwiches were often being requested for get togethers, and then requests for “some of that seasoning” followed. We began to bottle Tiny’s for Christmas presents for our friends and family. It was in the summer of 2022 at a campground with a group of about 6 families that the idea to bring Tiny’s to life was born. Only one family had a bottle of Tiny’s, and it wasn’t even Eric and Jordon, but everyone wanted some to cook dinner with. It was then that Eric decided make Tiny’s a reality. Over the next month, Eric and Jordon worked to get everything in place to launch. They are excited to share the great tastes that come from their kitchen and cookouts with the rest of the world!

So, where’s the name “Tiny” come from? Well, Eric has always been a big guy. At 6’4” 275lbs, he is certainly not “tiny”. In high school, Eric played offensive tackle in football. While not the size he is today, he was still a big guy for his age. His family started calling him “Tiny”, and eventually “T” for short. Carrying the “Tiny” name into the Navy, Eric’s call name as a breacher on the USS Underwood’s VBSS Boarding Team was “Tiny” as well.
